Quick, simple and well priced. I'd ignore the douche about it being barbeque'd. Its not bbq'd, how ever, the bbq legs and wings are a lovely treat. Their bbq marinade is fan dabby dosey. For the price, its a good deli, and if you dont know about it already which im sure you do as its been esablished many years, give it a go. :)

Womble Inn is a cracking little shop with friendly helpful staff. Although the Womble Inn is probably better known for its large range of cooked meats, you will be hard pushed to find nicer freshly baked scones than they have here. From an appreciate regular, who thoroughly enjoys them.

this place is a god, does probably the best barm in all the land. £1.70 for bacon chicken sausage and stuffing it was heavenly besides the fact its death on a bun. all round is an awesome scran place and definately worth the trip do not listen to Alison "butthole" B, she is a liar and a thief and an affiliate of the nazi regime

the womble inn specialises in selling products which are difficult to obtain in sale such as duck eggs, haslet, brawn, savoury ducks, smoked pork loin etc. the chickens which are cooked on the rotisserie are exclusively from cumbria which cuts down on food miles and the sandwhiches are amongst the best in sale...briskett with onions and horseradish, pork loin with apple and stuffing all for £1.40. in addition all of the bacon is sliced on the premises and can be cut to any thickness.

The Womble Inn cooks a lot of meat and lacks air conditioning to carry the smell away, so if you don't like the smell of cooked meat like I do, you'll probably won't feel as hungry once you're in there. I buy a pork and stuffing sandwhich with fried onions and apple sauce every week or so. I personally recommend that combination; I converted my friends to buying from there using it :) It costs me £1.40 for a good man-sized sandwhich that no other retailers produce anymore, which I buy once a week, or £4.20 if I buy three for myself :D They serve kind of meat that I wish every chicken, beef or pork sandwhich had. It's thick and meaty and has very little of the fat taken out of it. Some might be grossed out as the bag sweats with grease from the sandwhich, but I love that. It's a thick unadulterated meat filling that I can't get from any other sandwhich reatailer, who serve wafer thin ham, mustard, low fat butter, and charge £2-odd for it. This is one of the main reasons the shop is considered a local legend of a store and I never go across the road to Dodgers. They sell the same fillings, only less of it, with much thinner meat, at a much higher price. Even the cheaper fillings blow my budget of £1.50. That, is no contest for me. The Womble Inn has been around for a long time and has consistently satisfied customers over the years, which is why people are still going there today. Their produce is of reasonable quality, but lacks sophistication; I doubt you'll find exquisite seasoning beyond salt and pepper. Their free range eggs are good, but their other produce isn't as good on value for money; the butcher/meats section I would say is average, I wouldn't touch their pastries as they don't look appetising, and their fruit jams are quite nice but again the price covers their quality. You may be willing to pay a premium on the delicate but consistent quality of sandwhiches from Dodgers across the other side, but I consider them to be on a similar level to the supermarkets, with the extra quality they provide coming at an additional premium. Either way, they cannot win my favour unless they start selling what the Womble can make for me at less than £1.40. Last thing to point out is their sandwhiches a few years back were £1.20, they have recently put the price up from the £1.30 it was a year ago to £1.40 today. If they start pushing £1.50-£1.60 I would consider eating somewhere else.
